England Hill (イングランドの丘) is a family-friendly farm park themed after English countryside, featuring flower fields, petting zoo, koalas, restaurants, and seasonal activities. The park is divided into two areas (England Area and Green Hill Area) connected by shuttle bus, spanning 50 hectares of cultivated land and pastures.

The park's highlight is Japan's few koala exhibits — 8 koalas housed in climate-controlled enclosure with viewing areas. Seasonal flower fields (sunflowers, cosmos, nemophila) provide colorful backdrops for photography. The petting zoo allows direct contact with sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, and alpacas. On-site bakery produces fresh bread and soft-serve ice cream from farm ingredients.

Insider Guide

**Koala viewing:** The koalas (native Australian animals) are rare in Japan — only a handful of zoos maintain them due to specialized eucalyptus diet requirements. Viewing is timed; koalas sleep 18–20 hours daily, so activity windows are narrow (typically feeding times around 10:30 and 14:30). The koalas are cute but stationary — expectation management advised. Koala enthusiasts find it worth the park entry; casual visitors may feel it's underwhelming for adults without children. **Seasonal flower timing:** Spring (April–May) brings nemophila (baby blue eyes) covering hillsides in blue — Instagrammable but smaller scale than Hitachi Seaside Park. Summer (July–August) has sunflower fields. Autumn (October) features cosmos flowers. Winter (December–February) has minimal flowers but fewer crowds and discounted entry. Check the park's website for current bloom status before visiting. **Farm restaurant Marche:** The on-site restaurant serves Awaji ingredients: onion curry, local beef burgers, vegetable tempura, and soft-serve ice cream made from farm milk. Quality is decent farm-to-table (¥1,200–2,000 for lunch) but not destination dining. The park is better suited for families spending half-day with kids than as a primary tourist attraction for adults. Combine with nearby Naruto whirlpools or onion restaurants for fuller Awaji Island itinerary.
