Laguna Ten Bosch (ラグーナテンボス) is a seaside resort complex in Gamagori combining a theme park (Lagunasia), hot spring facilities, shopping outlets, and marina on the shores of Mikawa Bay. The park emphasizes marine and Mediterranean themes — pastel-colored buildings, flower gardens, boat rides, and seasonal illuminations transforming the grounds into evening light displays. Unlike massive Tokyo theme parks, Lagunasia operates at relaxed scale — 20+ attractions including roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, water rides, and musical shows.

The resort's highlight is the 360° 3D Mapping Show projected onto the central lagoon and surrounding buildings, combining lasers, fireworks, and music into a 15-minute spectacle. The adjacent hot spring complex, Thalasso Therapy Raguna no Yu, offers ocean-view baths using seawater heated and mineral-enhanced for therapeutic bathing.

Insider Guide

Premium
**Illumination season value:** Laguna Ten Bosch operates year-round illuminations but peak spectacle occurs November–March when 5 million LED lights cover the park in thematic displays (winter: European Christmas village, spring: flower light tunnels). The nighttime passport (after 16:00 entry, ¥3,200) offers best value — enjoy attractions in afternoon, then experience illuminations and 3D mapping show at dark. The mapping show runs 19:30 and 21:00 (winter, earlier in summer) — secure viewing positions 20 minutes early (central plaza near lagoon). **Ocean onsen experience:** Thalasso Therapy Raguna no Yu (separate admission ¥1,320, or ¥750 add-on with park ticket) offers panoramic Mikawa Bay views from indoor and outdoor baths. The seawater baths are heated to 38–42°C and enriched with minerals (thalassotherapy — using seawater for healing). The outdoor rotenburo faces west over the bay, making sunset timing (check seasonal sunset times) ideal. The onsen is less crowded than inland hot springs and offers unique ocean-bathing atmosphere. **Family logistics:** Laguna Ten Bosch targets families with young children (most rides accept kids 90cm+), making it less intense than Tokyo's mega-parks but more relaxed. Lines are shorter (5–15 minute waits vs. 60+ at DisneySea), and the compact layout prevents exhausting walking. The resort operates a free shuttle bus from Gamagori Station (15 minutes, every 30 minutes). For overnight stays, the on-site Hotel Laguna Hill offers package deals combining room, park entry, and onsen access (¥15,000–25,000 per person including breakfast/dinner).
