다카치호 협곡은 고카세강이 고대 화산 현무암 주상절리를 깎아 만든 일본에서 가장 극적인 자연 풍경 중 하나다. 협곡은 약 7km에 걸쳐 이어지며 80~100m 높이의 수직 절벽이 양쪽에 솟아 있다. 중심은 마나이 폭포로, 17m 높이에서 에메랄드빛 강물로 바로 떨어진다.
나룻배를 대여해 수면 높이에서 협곡을 체험할 수 있다 — 진정 잊을 수 없는 시점이다. 이른 아침 방문은 강에서 피어오르는 안개로 사진가들에게 보상을 준다.
영업시간
나룻배 이용 가능 8:30~17:00(3~11월, 날씨 허락 시). 협곡 산책로는 낮 시간 개방.
휴무일: 협곡 산책로는 연중 개방. 나룻배 대여는 12~2월과 궂은 날씨엔 휴업.
