大须商店街是名古屋最多元的街区,在有顶棚的商店街下,逾1700家店融合了千年古寺、复古电器街、女仆咖啡、二手和服店与各国街头小吃。街区以大须观音为中心——这座佛寺始于1333年(1612年迁至现址),终日香客络绎,周边街道则跳动着年轻文化与寻宝客的活力。
商店街分为不同区块:万松寺商店街的电器与动漫商品可与东京秋叶原一较高下;仁王门商店街专营1950–70年代的古着与美式进口货;东仁王门则有各国料理(土耳其烤肉、台式珍奶、巴西烤肉)。整个街区宛如有序的混沌——佛寺线香与现烤章鱼烧的香气交织,买茶的阿嬷与cosplay玩家共享同一条人行道。
