Ponshukan es un museo del sake dentro de la estación de Niigata donde, por ¥500, se obtienen cinco fichas para probar cualquiera de las 117 marcas de sake de la prefectura dispensadas en máquinas. Niigata es la mayor productora de sake de Japón. También hay un onsen de sake y una sala de degustación de arroz.
