Yanagawa conserva una red de canales del siglo XVI. Barqueros con sombrero de paja conducen embarcaciones planas bajo puentes de piedra cubiertos de sauce llorón, narrando historias locales durante el trayecto de 70 minutos. En primavera los cerezos bordean los canales; en verano florecen lirios de agua en la superficie.
