Fukuoka City Waterfront
Image d'illustration — il ne s'agit pas d'une photo de ce lieu.
The Momochi district, built on reclaimed land in the 1990s to host the 1989 Asia-Pacific Expo, contains an unexpectedly pleasant stretch of coastline: Marizon (a yacht basin turned wedding and event venue), a continuous beach promenade facing Hakata Bay, and the iconic Fukuoka Tower (234m) which looks out over the bay toward Nokonoshima Island. The beach runs 650m and is a genuine city beach — swimming from July to August, beach volleyball year-round, and an evening promenade culture that mirrors Rio de Janeiro's Ipanema in miniature.
