Nabana no Sato (なばなの里) is a 230,000㎡ flower park that transforms into Japan's largest light festival each winter (October–May), featuring over 8 million LED lights covering the entire park in synchronized illumination displays. The centerpiece is the 200-meter 'Tunnel of Light' (光のトンネル) — an arched passageway covered in twinkling LED curtains that visitors walk through, surrounded by waves of color-changing lights set to music.

Each year features a new theme for the main light tableau — recent years showcased Mt. Fuji, cherry blossoms, and Switzerland's Matterhorn rendered in massive LED murals (spanning 155m wide × 25m tall). The flower fields transform into illuminated 'water mirrors' using LED reflections, and the park's Chapel area becomes a crystal palace of white lights. The event attracts 2 million visitors annually and is considered Japan's most spectacular illumination.

**Illumination timing:** Lights activate at sunset (varies seasonally: 17:00 in winter, 18:30 in early spring). Arrive 30 minutes before sunset to secure good viewing positions at the main tableau and Tunnel of Light. Peak crowds (December weekends) see 1-hour waits for the tunnel entrance — weekdays or January–February are significantly less crowded with identical displays. **Photography strategy:** Bring a tripod for long-exposure shots (tripods allowed on weekdays; prohibited on weekends/holidays due to crowding). The Tunnel of Light is most photogenic from inside looking toward either exit, capturing the LED curtain perspective. The main tableau is best photographed from the designated viewing platform (elevated area provides optimal angle). Early evening (right after sunset) offers blue hour light contrasts; full darkness (after 18:30) provides purest LED colors. **Food and facilities:** The ¥1,000 entrance voucher covers partial meal costs at on-site restaurants. Nagashima Beer Garden (長島ビール園) serves local craft beer and grilled foods (¥800–1,500). The Italian restaurant offers pizza and pasta (¥1,200–2,000). Alternatively, use the voucher for omiyage (souvenirs) at the gift shop. Free shuttle buses run from Kuwana Station every 20 minutes (last bus returns at 22:00).
