Kushikatsu Daruma (だるま) is the most famous chain (5 Shinsekai locations + others citywide). Order skewers individually (¥150–300 each): pork, chicken, beef, seafood, vegetables, even ice cream (dessert skewer). The iron rule: NO DOUBLE DIPPING in the communal sauce pot (ソース二度漬け禁止) — locals will scold violators. Order 10–15 skewers/person for full meal (¥2,000–3,000 with beer). **Safety reality:** Shinsekai's 'dangerous' reputation is outdated — the area was rough in the 1990s but gentrified significantly.
