Den Den Town (でんでんタウン, short for 'denki no machi' 電気の街 'electric town') is Osaka's answer to Tokyo's Akihabara — a district of 200+ shops selling electronics, anime goods, manga, video games, collectibles, and maid cafes. The area evolved from post-war electronics repair shops into modern otaku (オタク, geek culture) paradise. Unlike Akihabara's tourist saturation, Den Den Town retains local otaku clientele and working-class Osaka pricing.

The district spans several blocks in Nippombashi with vertical specialization — ground floors sell mainstream electronics, upper floors house niche anime figure shops, retro game stores, and adult-oriented otaku goods. The browsing experience appeals to hardcore collectors and casual tourists alike.
