일본 도자기의 발상지. 아리타야키와 이마리야키는 17세기부터 네덜란드 동인도회사를 통해 유럽 왕실에 팔려나갔다. 요부코 아침시장의 살아있는 오징어 사시미는 더없이 신선하고 달콤하며, 우레시노온천은 '미인탕'으로 불린다. 다케오온천 본관은 일본에 현존하는 가장 오래된 공중목욕탕 중 하나다.
