**Bridge walk tour (maintenance catwalk):** This guided tour allows walking along the bridge's maintenance catwalks — metal grate walkways suspended 300m above the strait with only railings separating you from open air. The experience is thrilling for heights-tolerant visitors: feeling the bridge sway slightly in wind, watching ships pass far below, and seeing the massive suspension cables up close. Tours are Japanese-language but the physical experience transcends language barriers. Book 1–2 weeks ahead through Bridge Exhibition Center website. **Maiko Marine Promenade:** This 150m glass-floor walkway extends under the bridge from the Kobe-side anchorage, suspended 47m above the sea. The transparent floor panels allow looking down at the strait below — disorienting but safe. The ¥310 admission provides bridge views from beneath, showing the scale of steel structure overhead.
