마쓰야마성 — 원형 천수각을 간직한 산 위의 요새
마쓰야마성은 마쓰야마 시내 중심에 있는 가쓰야마산 해발 132m 정상을 차지하며, 에도 시대의 원형 천수각(본전)을 간직한 일본에서 단 12곳뿐인 성 중 하나다. 1603년 다이묘 가토 요시아키가 짓기 시작해 1627년 완공된 이 성 단지에는 방어용 문과 석벽으로 연결된 여러 곽에 걸쳐 21점의 중요문화재가 흩어져 있다.
방문객은 로프웨이, 리프트, 또는 벚나무 숲을 지나는 20분짜리 등산로로 성에 도착할 수 있다. 천수각 최상층에서는 마쓰야마 시내, 세토내해, 맑은 날엔 시코쿠의 산맥까지 360도로 조망할 수 있다.
영업시간
오전 9:00~오후 5:00(8월엔 오후 5:30까지, 12~1월엔 오후 4:30까지). 로프웨이/리프트: 오전 8:30~오후 5:30.
휴무일: 매일 개방. 강풍 시 로프웨이가 운행 중단될 수 있음 — 방문 전 상황 확인.

성 입장료 ¥520. 로프웨이/리프트 왕복 ¥520. 니노마루사적정원 ¥200(별도 티켓). 등산로는 무료.
베스트 시즌
3월 말~4월 초엔 벚꽃(200그루 이상)과 야간 조명. 연중 성 전망을 즐길 수 있음.
방문 소요 시간
로프웨이/리프트 탑승, 성 내부, 부지 관람을 포함해 2~3시간. 기슭의 니노마루 정원에 30분 추가.
