Best Time to Visit

Weekday mornings 10:00 AM–noon to browse Shotengai and access onsen before lunch crowds. Evening foot-baths (5:00–7:00 PM) are atmospheric after sightseeing.

Crowd Avoidance Tips

Golden Week (late April–early May) and autumn foliage season (October–November) see maximum visitors. Ryokan and day-use onsen fill early on weekends — reserve in advance. Weekdays are 40% less crowded. The free foot-baths along the river are always manageable.

Parking Information
