高千穗峡是日本最壮丽的自然景观之一，由五濑川切穿古老火山玄武岩柱形成。峡谷全长约7公里，两侧垂直崖壁高达80至100公尺，气势惊人。核心景致是真名井瀑布，落差17公尺，直接倾泻至下方翡翠绿的河面。
可租借小船从水面体验峡谷——这是绝对难忘的视角。清晨造访能拍到河面升起薄雾的绝美画面，深受摄影爱好者喜爱。
