Castillo de Karatsu

**Karatsu Kunchi Festival (November 2–4):** The festival floats parade through the city streets while hundreds of men pull them with ropes. The scale is extraordinary — the largest float (red lion) is 7 meters tall and weighs 2 tons. The night procession (November 2, 20:00) is the most atmospheric event. **Castle grounds at sunset:** The stone walls on the sea-facing side catch the last light of the day and turn golden — the best view is from the third story window facing northwest, where Karatsu Bay and the distant Genkai islands are visible together with the castle wall foreground.
