**Hydrangea season (June):** Hasedera is Kamakura's premier hydrangea viewing spot — 2,500 bushes in 40+ varieties (blue, purple, pink, white) blanket the hillside paths during tsuyu (梅雨, rainy season, early June). The temple implements crowd control during peak bloom (mid-June weekends) — numbered tickets distributed starting 8:00 with staggered entry times. Arrive by 8:00 on weekends to secure morning slot; weekdays are manageable without ticket system. The rain-soaked flowers are most vibrant, so don't avoid rainy days. Hydrangea Path (あじさい路) offers the best concentration; observation deck provides hydrangea-framed ocean view. **Observation deck views:** The upper terrace (見晴台, miharashidai) overlooks Yuigahama Beach, Kamakura town, and Sagami Bay. Clear days offer distant views to Izu Peninsula and occasionally Mt. Fuji (winter mornings, 15% probability).
