Lac Ashi

Car: Tokyo via Tomei Expressway to Atsugi IC, then Route 246 and Route 1 into Hakone (~90 min, tolls ~¥1,500). Parking at Togendai and Moto-Hakone (¥600–800/hour). Roads can be congested on holiday weekends.
Meilleur moment pour visiter
Weekdays 9:00–10:00 AM for morning mist photography before tour groups arrive. Winter mornings (7:00–9:00 AM) offer the best chance of clear Mt. Fuji views. The first pirate ship of the day (9:30 AM from Togendai) is least crowded.
Conseils pour éviter la foule
Peak congestion: Golden Week (late April–early May) and autumn leaf season (mid–late November). Arrive before 9:30 AM on weekends to beat tour buses. The east shore hiking trail (4 km, near Old Tokaido Road) is almost always uncrowded regardless of season.
Informations de stationnement
Togendai: free parking lot (~200 spaces, fills by 10 AM on weekends). Moto-Hakone: roadside paid parking ¥600–800/hour. Hakone-machi: paid lot near the checkpoint (¥500/hour). Train and bus is strongly recommended on holiday weekends to avoid traffic jams on Route 1.
