Comment s'y rendre

Informations d'accès

Guide d'initié

**First-timer strategy:** Enter from the Obiyamachi side (main entrance). Do a full lap without ordering to understand the layout. Claim a seat early (before 12:00 for lunch, before 18:00 for dinner) — tables fill fast. **Essential stalls:** Akiyoshi (焼き鳥 akiyoshi) for yakitori — order the 'tori kawa' (crispy chicken skin) and 'negi-ma' (scallion-chicken skewers). Yasaiya (やさい屋) for surprising vegetable tempura. And any stall with a warayaki grill for tataki. **Drinking culture:** Kochi has the highest per-capita alcohol consumption in Japan. Locals will often clink glasses with strangers and shout 'kanpai!' This is normal. Join in. Order a 'nama beer' (draft) or try local Tosa shochu over ice. **Sunday morning tradition:** Hirome is popular on Sunday mornings (10:00–12:00) after the nearby Nichiyoichi Sunday Market. The vibe is more relaxed, families are present, and several stalls serve breakfast sets (tataki + rice + miso soup). **Payment note:** Some stalls now accept PayPay and credit cards, but cash remains king. There is an ATM inside the market near the restrooms.
