熊本城于1607年竣工，是日本三大名城之一，也是防御建筑的杰作。2016年的地震对城堡造成严重损害——天守屋瓦崩塌、石垣坍塌，多座橹楼被毁。目前仍在进行的修复工程（目标完工年份：2037年）让游客得以实地观察传统筑城修复技术。

城堡最初由加藤清正设计，融入了「武者返し」弯曲石垣（无法攀爬）等创新工法，并设有大量地下储藏空间。城郭范围占地98公顷，是日本规模最大的城郭建筑群之一。

Its own posted hours are 9:00 to 17:00. That gives you exactly two windows you can plan from published information rather than from luck: be at the entrance for 9:00, or come late enough that 17:00 is your deadline. 交通信息

熊本市中央区本丸1-1。从熊本站步行30分钟或搭市电10分钟。开放时间：9:00–17:00。门票：¥800。修复观景区开放参观。

独家私藏情报

**修复观景步道：**2021年开放的特别高架步道，让游客能与受损屋顶及石垣近距离平视观察修复过程。亲眼见到重建过程——例如不用灰泥的传统石材堆叠技法——比看到完工成品更具教育意义。此步道含在城堡门票内。 **夜间点灯：**城堡每晚点灯至23:00。部分修复完成的状态呈现一种特殊的美感——现代鹰架与400年历史的城墙并列，在灯光下格外戏剧化。建议从二之丸公园观赏（开放时间后可免费进入）。 **本丸御殿内部：**御殿重建工程（2008年完工，逃过地震损害）内有重现的狩野派绘画与金箔装饰房间。「昭君之间」（接见厅）代表江户时代工艺的巅峰之作。
