道後溫泉本館 — 日本最古老的公共浴場
道後溫泉本館以深色木材與白灰泥打造,聳立三層樓高,看起來更像一座為泡湯而生的城堡,而非為戰爭而建。建於1894年,已連續營運130年,泉水據說來自3000年前天皇曾泡過的源泉。宮崎駿將這座建築作為《神隱少女》湯屋的原型——多層次的結構、屋頂通風口冒出的蒸氣,還有磨損的木地板在泡湯客腳下發出的吱嘎聲,都能在動畫中找到影子。
主浴池「神之湯」以花崗岩浴槽盛裝42°C的鹼性溫泉水,泡完後皮膚會變得滑順細緻。一樓大眾浴池門票¥420。若想體驗頂級方案,¥1,650可享:樓上的私人休息室、浴衣,以及在榻榻米上邊納涼邊品嚐的抹茶。這棟建築曾於2019至2024年因耐震補強工程而休館,但重新開幕後原有風貌完整保留——同樣的木造建築、同樣的溫泉水、同樣飄過屋頂的蒸氣雲。
營業時間
6:00–23:00(最後入場22:30)。2月休館進行年度維護(通常1週——請查詢官網)。
公休: 全年開放,僅2月下旬有年度維護休館。確切日期請查詢道後溫泉官網。

最佳季節
全年皆宜。秋冬人潮比夏季觀光旺季少。1894年的建築外觀在清晨薄霧中格外上鏡。
