川越的藏造老街保留了日本最完整的江戶時代商人町之一——逾30座17至19世紀建造的土倉(藏),厚實的黑牆與瓦頂逃過了關東大地震與摧毀鄰近東京的多次火災。漫步在這條400公尺長的街道上,宛如走進一幅浮世繪版畫——傳統甜品店、工藝品店與咖啡廳,如今佔用著曾經儲存稻米、絲綢與清酒的建築。
「小江戶」這個稱號反映了川越歷史上作為東京(當時的江戶)補給站與文化衛星城的角色。當年建造這些防火倉庫的富裕商人,透過建築細節競相展示財富——雕刻屋瓦、精緻大門與家紋。這條街道的保存純屬意外——川越在明治時期的經濟衰退,意味著這些建築從未經歷現代化改建,因而凝固在時光之中。

街道全天24小時開放。商店通常10:00–17:00。
