琵琶湖是日本最大的湖泊,面積670平方公里,蘊藏日本20%的淡水資源。這座湖泊已孕育生命超過400萬年,是全球最古老的湖泊之一。琵琶湖為關西地區1400萬居民供應飲用水,同時也是划船、釣魚、單車與海灘活動的休閒樞紐。
這座湖的規模營造出內海般的氛圍——湖岸線長達235公里,沿途有海灘、港口、濕地與山巒。結合水上活動、比叡山景致、單車路線與便利的交通位置(距京都僅15分鐘),讓琵琶湖成為熱門的當日往返景點。

湖岸全天24小時開放。大津港遊湖船10:00–16:00。
公休: 全年開放。游泳海灘僅7至8月有救生員值勤。

湖岸:免費。遊湖船:¥2,260(80分鐘)。獨木舟/SUP租借:每2小時¥3,000–5,000。

7–8月適合海灘戲水;秋季(10–11月)騎行賞楓;全年皆宜Biwaichi單車環湖
