The Sapporo Beer Museum (サッポロビール博物館) occupies a red-brick factory from 1890, when Hokkaido's cold climate and barley cultivation made it Japan's brewing center. The self-guided exhibits display vintage brewing equipment, advertising posters from the 1900s-1960s, and the evolution of beer culture in Japan.

The adjacent beer garden serves fresh Sapporo beer (unpasteurized 'nama' beer) alongside Genghis Khan (jingisukan) — Hokkaido's signature grilled lamb dish cooked on a convex iron helmet-shaped grill. The pairing of cold beer and smoky lamb in a century-old brick hall is quintessential Sapporo.
