Monte Ishizuchi

El monte Ishizuchi (1.982 m) es la cumbre más alta del oeste de Japón y una de las siete montañas sagradas del sintoísmo. La ascensión final implica trepar por cadenas de hierro ancladas a la roca vertical, una práctica de peregrinación (shugendo) de siglos. Desde la cima se divisan Shikoku y el mar Interior de Seto.

Ropeway: operating hours vary by season (typically 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM). Summit trail accessible during daylight. Summit shrine is always accessible.
Cerrado: Climbing season April–November. Winter (December–March) requires ice climbing gear — not suitable for general visitors. Ropeway may suspend operations in severe weather.
Entrada
Ropeway ¥2,000 round-trip to 1,300m elevation. No fee for trail access. Mountain hut overnight ¥7,000/person including two meals.
Mejor temporada
May–June for fresh greenery and clear skies. Late October for autumn foliage with dramatic contrast between colored forest and bare rocky summit. Avoid July–August afternoon thunderstorms.
