The water's 12°C temperature year-round indicates it's deep groundwater (surface water would vary seasonally), estimated to be 20–30 years old (time since snowfall on Fuji). **Photography timing:** The falls face southwest, making 10:00–14:00 optimal for photography when sunlight hits the falls directly.
