先斗町是一条与鸭川平行、长500公尺的窄巷,传统木造建筑内藏逾百家餐厅、居酒屋与酒吧。巷弄窄到(2–3公尺宽)两人几乎难以错身,入夜后灯笼映照木造门面,别有一番亲密氛围。
许多餐厅在夏季设「纳凉床」(河畔平台)——延伸至鸭川之上的木造露台,食客一边用餐一边俯看河水流过。先斗町的料理从平价串烧到高级怀石都有,河景是共通的主轴。
