熊本城於1607年竣工，是日本三大名城之一，也是防禦建築的傑作。2016年的地震對城堡造成嚴重損害——天守屋瓦崩塌、石垣坍塌，多座櫓樓被毀。目前仍在進行的修復工程（目標完工年份：2037年）讓遊客得以實地觀察傳統築城修復技術。

城堡最初由加藤清正設計，融入了「武者返し」彎曲石垣（無法攀爬）等創新工法，並設有大量地下儲藏空間。城郭範圍占地98公頃，是日本規模最大的城郭建築群之一。

Its own posted hours are 9:00 to 17:00. That gives you exactly two windows you can plan from published information rather than from luck: be at the entrance for 9:00, or come late enough that 17:00 is your deadline. 如何前往

交通資訊

熊本市中央區本丸1-1。從熊本站步行30分鐘或搭市電10分鐘。開放時間：9:00–17:00。門票：¥800。修復觀景區開放參觀。

在地私房情報

**修復觀景步道：**2021年開放的特別高架步道，讓遊客能與受損屋頂及石垣近距離平視觀察修復過程。親眼見到重建過程——例如不用灰泥的傳統石材堆疊技法——比看到完工成品更具教育意義。此步道含在城堡門票內。 **夜間點燈：**城堡每晚點燈至23:00。部分修復完成的狀態呈現一種特殊的美感——現代鷹架與400年歷史的城牆並列，在燈光下格外戲劇化。建議從二之丸公園觀賞（開放時間後可免費進入）。 **本丸御殿內部：**御殿重建工程（2008年完工，逃過地震損害）內有重現的狩野派繪畫與金箔裝飾房間。「昭君之間」（接見廳）代表江戶時代工藝的巔峰之作。
