These are airport souvenir items sold at local prices. **Crane ya (鶴屋百貨店):** The department store anchoring the arcade's north end has a basement food hall (depachika) with exceptional Kumamoto product density — every local sake, shochu, and sweet is represented. The prepared food section (惣菜) sells restaurant-quality dishes for 60% of restaurant prices. **Evening izakaya alley:** The narrow lanes branching east from Shimotori (between Kamitori crossing and Suizenji) contain 50+ small izakaya — most seating under 20 people, all serving basashi and local sake. Walking this area 18:00–19:30 before they fill up allows spontaneous entry without reservation.
