Ogi is a small castle town on the southern slopes of Mt. Tenzan, known primarily within Saga Prefecture for its cherry blossom season — the river corridor through the old castle town is lined with 3,000 trees that bloom in late March and early April, creating tunnels of pink over the streams that run through the former samurai district. Unlike the famous cherry spots of Fukuoka or Nagasaki, Ogi attracts almost no foreign visitors and only moderate domestic crowds.

**Night cherry (yozakura):** The river corridor is lit from dusk until 22:00 during the cherry season — the reflection of illuminated blossoms in the flowing stream creates a double image. Weeknight visits (Tuesday–Thursday) draw almost no crowds. **Ogi nishiki soy sauce:** Ogi is the production center of Saga's premium soy sauce tradition — the Kinryu brand (established 1903) is exported nationally but available locally at producer price. Buy at the factory shop, 10-minute walk from the cherry blossom area.
