Ureshino's 30 ryokan are concentrated within 800 meters of riverside corridor — close enough that walking the onsen town at night becomes a sensory survey of traditional inn culture. The stone-paved path between the Ureshino and Shioyu bridges passes inn gardens illuminated through shoji screens, outdoor bath steam rising above wooden walls, yukata-clad guests walking between inns with towels, and the smell of sulfur and pine mingling. This specific combination exists only in Japanese onsen towns.

Guide d'initié

Premium
**Day-use bathing combined with night walk:** Several ryokan offer evening day-use bathing (15:00–20:00, ¥800–1,500) — combining a private-use outdoor bath at the ryokan with the evening street walk creates the full onsen town experience without overnight stay cost. **Onsen town café:** A few small cafés tucked in the side alleys near the bridge stay open into the evening, serving tea service with seasonal desserts made with local Ureshino tea — a rarity in most Japanese onsen towns where cafés close early.
