Shimotori and Kamitori are parallel covered shopping arcades running for 1.2km through central Kumamoto — the longest arcade system in Kyushu.
The arcade system connects to Kumamoto Castle (a short walk north) and Suizenji Garden (15-minute tram south), making it a natural midpoint for city sightseeing.
