伏見稻荷大社是京都最具代表性的神社，以「千本鳥居」聞名——上萬座朱紅鳥居構成的隧道，蜿蜒攀上神聖的稻荷山（233公尺）。參道穿過竹林與一座座供奉稻荷（掌管稻米、農業與生意興隆的神祇）的攝社，狐狸石像（稻荷的使者）遍布山間。
神社24小時開放、免費參拜，是京都參訪人數最多的地方。鳥居隧道一路延伸4公里至山頂，走完整段來回需2–3小時。
