Kashikojima (賢島) is a small resort island in Ago Bay, connected to the mainland by bridge and serving as the gateway to the Shima Peninsula's coastal attractions. The island gained international attention in 2016 when it hosted the G7 Summit, showcasing Ise-Shima's natural beauty to world leaders. Kashikojima offers luxury resort hotels with onsen (hot springs), waterfront promenades, and departure points for Ago Bay cruises and island-hopping tours.
The island's main appeal is its scenic setting — surrounded by Ago Bay's ria coastline with views of pine-covered islands and pearl rafts. The Kashikojima Espana Cruise (50-minute bay tour, ¥1,600) departs from the island's port, navigating through Ago Bay's inner waters while explaining pearl cultivation and coastal geography.
