屋台——傳統的有輪路邊攤——只有在福岡還是真正的城市日常,而不是為觀光客表演的懷舊布景。中洲一帶沿著那珂川河岸,每到傍晚就有約20攤陸續開張,在裸露的燈泡下賣拉麵、關東煮、串燒和明太子飯給上班族、旅客和夜貓子。
每攤只坐得下6到10人,肩並肩的距離讓人不得不聊起天來。攤主多半是第三代——攤位執照無法轉讓或賣給家族以外的人。營業時間大致從晚上6點到凌晨2點,下雨也照開(拉上塑膠布)。中洲的密度最高;天神和長濱一帶同樣道地,但人少得多。
