Tokyo Tower (東京タワー) is a 333-meter red-and-white communications tower completed in 1958, inspired by the Eiffel Tower but 13 meters taller. The observation decks (Main Deck at 150m, Top Deck at 250m) offer views of Tokyo with the tower itself providing nostalgic mid-century aesthetics — the era when Japan rebuilt from WWII devastation into an economic powerhouse.

The tower is less about optimal views (Skytree and Metropolitan Building are superior) and more about historical significance and retro charm. The surrounding Shiba Park offers views of the tower itself against Tokyo's skyline — photographing the tower is often more rewarding than viewing from it. Night illumination (orange-red, seasonal variations) creates a warm, romantic glow that's quintessentially Showa-era Tokyo.

Zojoji Temple (増上寺, 400m south) frames the tower with traditional temple architecture — dramatic contrast of old/new Japan. **Night illumination:** The tower is illuminated year-round from sunset until midnight. Standard 'Landmark Light' is warm orange (ランドマークライト, winter) or white (summer). Special illuminations occur for events — pink (breast cancer awareness, October), rainbow (Pride Month, June), or themed colors (holidays, sports events). The illumination changes at the hour — plan photography timing accordingly. **Top Deck Tour:** The Top Deck (250m, ¥2,800 total) is a premium experience with guided tour, holographic presentations, and 360-degree glass windows.
