Ruta Yoshida

La ruta Yoshida es la más popular para subir al monte Fuji (3 776 m): sale de la 5.ª estación a 2 300 m, tiene la mayor concentración de refugios de montaña y el mejor acceso desde Tokio. La subida lleva 5-7 horas y el descenso 3-4 horas. La mayoría de los montañeros parten por la tarde, duermen unas horas en un refugio y completan la cima para ver el goraiko (amanecer) desde el cráter.
No es una escalada técnica, pero la altitud, la pendiente de grava volcánica y el frío nocturno (puede bajar de 0 °C incluso en verano) hacen que la preparación sea imprescindible. La temporada oficial es de julio a mediados de septiembre. Fuera de ese periodo, los refugios cierran y las condiciones son peligrosas para no expertos.
