有馬溫泉是日本最古老的溫泉鄉，泡湯歷史自西元631年有紀錄以來達1400年。小鎮以兩種截然不同的泉質聞名：含鐵、呈褐色的金泉，以及清澈含碳酸的銀泉。這兩種泉名列日本三名泉。
有馬位於距神戶30分鐘的山谷，是逃離關西都會的便利去處。小巧的鎮上有傳統旅館、外湯（公共浴場）、寺院，以及販售在地工藝與碳酸泉飲料的店家。
