錦市場是一條有頂棚的窄巷商店街，容納逾百家專門食材店，販售京都的時令食材：漬物、京都風壽司、新鮮湯葉（豆皮）、烤魚、和菓子與茶。市場已營業400年，最初是魚貨批發市場，如今仍是京都頂級餐廳的採購地。

商店街東西向貫穿京都市中心400公尺，兩側店家緊密相連。氣氛熱鬧而有序——攤商吆喝、常有免費試吃，烤魚與燉高湯的香氣瀰漫其間。

**必訪店家：** 有次（販售專業日本刀具¥10,000–100,000，光是欣賞工藝也值得）、蛸玉（章魚包鵪鶉蛋現烤，¥400）、こんなもんや（新鮮湯葉與豆腐料理¥600–1,200）、京漬物（時令醃菜¥300–800）。漬物與茶攤常提供試吃——請禮貌收下。 **上午 vs 下午：** 市場在10:00–12:00最新鮮，晨間進貨陳列、攤商活力十足。下午（15:00後）多有售罄、氣氛較淡。避開午餐尖峰（12:00–13:00），此時商店街擠得幾乎難以通行。平日早上（週二至週四10:00–11:00）在新鮮貨與人潮之間取得最佳平衡。 **適合帶回的伴手禮：** 京漬物是理想紀念品——真空包裝款常溫可放兩週（請看標示）。專門店的七味唐辛子（¥800–1,500）比超市新鮮。新鮮豆腐／湯葉除非當日食用，否則不建議（無防腐劑）。
