

淺草寺是東京最古老、最重要的佛寺,645年創建——相傳兩名漁夫在隅田川撈起一尊觀音(慈悲女神)金像後建立。經雷門(掛著4公尺高、700公斤重的巨大紅燈籠)與仲見世商店街(250公尺的紀念品攤)進入,構成東京最具代表性的寺院體驗。寺院的五重塔、本堂與香爐體現了古典的日本佛教建築。
寺院境內總是人潮如織,卻仍具信仰意義——在地人前來祈願、抽御神籤、參加季節祭典。這一帶保留著江戶風情,傳統店家、人力車與身穿和服的訪客,在現代東京中構成一座上鏡的時光膠囊。
